Margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella, crushed tomatoes, fresh basil, roasted garlic, homemade Italian sausage, and local Catalogna greens on a chewy homemade crust.
Bella Nashville is a relatively new addition to the downtown Nashville Farmer’s Market that makes traditional wood-fired pizzas using fresh produce, meats, and cheeses from local Tennessee farms. The pizzas are made to order while you wait – which takes about 7 minutes – and they are absolutely fabulous. The crust is so good that more than half of the 7 or 8 pizzas they offer each day (which varies according to what’s in season) don’t have cheese and they are still incredibly delicious.
My favourite is the margherita pizza with the addition of of Bella Nashville’s own spicy hand made sausage. This time I also added roasted garlic and fresh local Catalogna greens, which was great. Other ingredients on offer range from strawberries and prosciutto to hummus, zatar, and sumac. All include the delicious Bella Nashville crust. I suggest getting one with their crushed tomato sauce because it’s so darn delicious. And don’t forget to order one of their wonderful homemade orange and lemon sodas, which are made in-house with mint and juice.
