Rich and creamy Sicilian amaretto gelato with slivered almonds, chocolate, and Italian almond macaroons.
La Paloma has amazing gelato. At nearly five bucks for a small (and one flavour only!) they are way too expensive, but I have to admit it has always been worth it. The gelato is incredibly delicious.I keep going back and forth on what my favourite flavour is. Their Bacio is the best I have had anywhere, but for now it is Chocolate Amaretto for me. It’s like eating one those boozy Italian almond macaroons that has somehow been liquified then frozen into a thick, rich, creamy treat and peppered with slivers of chocolate and almonds. Yum!
I once paid 14 dollars for a small cup of gelato, in Vegas, and they scraped the top flat so you didn’t get any extra. Needless to say I will never get gelato there again.
Perhaps with all the tourists in Vegas they aren’t worried about getting repeat customers, but what a shame to run a business that way!
Oddly enough, the most expensive gelato I ever had was in Mexico City. We paid $18(US) for two small cups at a Paciugo. It was pretty mediocre, too. I guess that’s what you get for going to an American chain in another country..
