Sweet buttered barbecued corn on the cob rolled in Mexican cheese and sprinkled with chili powder with a hint of lime.
Elotes, a popular Mexican street food also known as esquites, have recently popped up in numerous American taco joints–a welcome side effect of America’s current addiction to street food (and a relatively wholesome one, if only by fast foods standards). The elote at Mas Tacos is the best I have tried. The corn is perfectly cooked and just a tiny bit charred, with toppings that compliment rather than compete with each other. The result is a slightly sweet, slightly spicy, incredibly delicious treat.
